H O M E B O U N D

Introduction to the Homebound Series.

Around the globe, the coronavirus pandemic has altered life as we knew it. Social distancing is the hottest new trend, our favorite restaurants and bars have shifted to takeaway, and we eye each other with suspicion in the grocery store. For solidarity (and sanity) we’re finding ways to keep ourselves and loved ones entertained at home.

"I’m just surrendering to the experience of being stuck at home and finding the joy of being in my own company."

Cristina Mittermeier, National Geographic photographer and founder of SeaLegacy.

Women Who Travel

The words of Cristina Mittermeier in this past month's issue of Conde Nast Traveler really rang true. She reminded me that after the rat-race of this past decade now may be the first time I've had a chance to sit still. Talking about her own struggles with road-weariness she shared that for her "it’s brutal to be away from home so often" and so she is "just surrendering to the experience of being stuck at home and finding the joy of being in my own company". Such a fantastic, uplifting perspective!

We’ve come up with a few ideas for coping, perhaps even enjoying, this new social situation. Whether you're social distancing alone or with company we hope our preliminary list inspired you to look forward to tomorrow. We’ll be posting loads of ideas, so be sure to come back to catch them all!
